Good morning, W.Y.R. neighbors!
Friday is a full night out: the Methodist men fry fish all day on South Main, Rolesville High hosts Wakefield for homecoming, and Panic Point's haunted forest opens its weekend run in Youngsville. Saturday is the main event. Diggery's Dino Adventure stomps into the Renaissance Centre, Beaglefest takes over the Lonerider Hideout yard, Youngsville throws a Fall Vendor Market by day and a free night market and movie on Main Street, and Bud's brings in the Chairmen of the Board with a BBQ plate on the deck. If you want a bigger night, Hum Sub's Diwali in Cary ends with a fireworks finale.
In today's edition of The WYRe:

THE DIGEST

π¦ Saturday Downtown: Diggery's Dino Adventure, Beaglefest, and the Ghost Walks
π Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S Brooks St; Lonerider Wake Forest Hideout & Distillery, 1839 S Main St; Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S Brooks St | Saturday, October 10 | Dino shows 10 AM and 2 PM, Beaglefest 1 to 4 PM, ghost walks 6:30 to 8:30 PM | Dino from $15 adults and $10 kids, Beaglefest free to attend, ghost walks from $23
Diggery's Dino Adventure is a family stage show with two performances Saturday, so the 10 AM is perfect for little ones before nap time. Then head down South Main for Beaglefest, one of Triangle Beagle Rescue's biggest days of the year: raffles, rescue merch, and a whole lot of beagles in the Hideout's big back yard (well-behaved dogs welcome). Cap the night with a Spirits of Wake Forest ghost walk from Town Hall. Tours run Thursday through Saturday this week and still had tickets this morning.

π· Youngsville Weekend: Chairmen of the Board at Bud's, a Night Market and Movie on Main, and Panic Point
π Bud's Tavern, 823 Youngsville Blvd; Yacht Club Beverage House, 118 E Main St; 15 Spencers Gate Dr; Hill Ridge Farms, 703 Pocomoke Rd; Panic Point, Youngsville | Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11 | Vendor market Sat 10 AM to 3 PM, night market Sat 4 to 7 PM with the movie at 7:30, Chairmen Sat 6 to 8 PM | Night market free, Chairmen $25 with a BBQ plate, haunted forest from $34
Bud's brings in the Chairmen of the Board (the beach music and soul legends behind "Give Me Just a Little More Time") Saturday from 6 to 8, and $25 gets you the show plus a BBQ plate on the deck. Friday is Bud's steak night ($20 ribeye with potato and salad) with George Hanna playing 7 to 9. Saturday starts with a Fall Vendor Market off Spencers Gate Dr (600-plus neighbors have marked it interested on Facebook), then the Youngsville Farmers Market moves to Main Street for a free Night Market at Yacht Club: Ari Pappalardo plays from 3, vendors 4 to 7, cowboy and cowgirl face painting with animal friends at 6:30, and Toy Story 5 on the screen at 7:30. Bring chairs, not coolers. Hill Ridge Farms' fall festival runs Wednesday through Sunday with a free pumpkin with every admission, and Panic Point's haunted forest opens Friday at 7:30 and Saturday and Sunday at 7. One heads-up: Bud's closes at 4 PM Sunday for a private event.

π Friday Night: Fish Fry, Homecoming in Rolesville, and the Cougars at Home
π Wake Forest United Methodist Church, 905 S Main St; Rolesville High School, 1099 E Young St; Wake Forest High School, 420 W Stadium Dr | Friday, October 9 | Fish fry 11 AM to 7 PM, kickoffs 7 PM | Fish fry plates for sale, game tickets at the gate
The United Methodist Men's fish fry runs all day Friday on South Main, so grab dinner on the way to the game. Rolesville High celebrates homecoming against Wakefield at 7, and Wake Forest (4-2) hosts East Wake at the same time. Prefer a quieter Friday? The Virginia Tull Fine Arts Series brings the Seipp/Williams Duo to Wake Forest Baptist Church at 7, and Artisan Beer & Cheese in Rolesville has live music from 6 to 9.

πͺ Worth the Drive: Hum Sub Diwali and Band Together
π Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Pkwy, Cary; Lincoln Theatre outdoor stage, 126 E Cabarrus St, Raleigh | Saturday, October 10 | Diwali 9 AM to 9:30 PM, Band Together 5 to 11 PM | Diwali free, Band Together ticketed
Hum Sub's Diwali is a full day of food, performances and community booths at Koka Booth, free to get in, with a fireworks finale to close the night (a Hum Sub membership gets you reserved seating). Downtown, Band Together's Mighty Giveback puts JJ Grey & Mofro, The 502s and Boom Unit Brass Band on the Lincoln Theatre outdoor stage. And mark your calendar: the NC State Fair opens next Thursday, October 15.
