Good morning, W.Y.R. neighbors! Summer settles in for real this week: Friday Night on White returns with local favorites Love Tribe turning downtown Wake Forest into a block party, and the internet-famous Danville Dairy Daddies roll into Flaherty Park Saturday night for the middle game of a four-game Fungo homestand. Saturday morning belongs to the markets (Wake Forest at 8, Rolesville at 9), then the sunflowers: Dix Park’s five-acre field hits peak bloom with a full celebration day. Downtown Raleigh doubles up Saturday with the All-American Summer Festival filling Fayetteville Street with food trucks, carnival games, and live music all day. And the World Cup is not done with us yet: the semifinals land Tuesday and Wednesday with watch parties running all over the Triangle. Let’s make a week of it.

The town’s marquee monthly street party is back, and July belongs to Love Tribe, the high-energy local party band that always pulls a crowd. Food and dessert trucks set up in the Depot Lot (110 S. White St) and along E. Owen Ave, with beer from White Street Brewing and Norse Brewing (Social District cups only). Park free at the Center for Active Aging or SEBTS, or get dropped at Town Hall (301 S. Brooks St). It will still be near 90 at kickoff, so bring water and pace the beer tokens. Weather permitting.

The Danville Dairy Daddies, summer baseball’s viral internet sensation, visit our own Wake Forest Fungo in the team’s 10th season. It is the centerpiece of a four-game home week at Flaherty Park: Carolina Ducks Thursday, the Dairy Daddies Saturday, and the Clayton Clovers Sunday and Wednesday, all at 6:30 PM. Cheap tickets, silly promos, kids running the bases: this is small-town summer ball at its best, five minutes from downtown.

The five-acre sunflower field hit full bloom this week, and Saturday is the official celebration: live entertainment, food vendors, family activities, and bike valet all day. The field itself is free from dawn to dusk every day this week if you want photos without the crowd. Go in the morning either way: it is a 92-degree day, and storms become likely after 2 PM. Pair it with Raleigh’s All-American Summer Festival on Fayetteville Street (11 AM to 7 PM) for a full downtown Saturday.

Downtown Raleigh keeps the America 250 party rolling with a full-day street festival on Fayetteville Street: food trucks, carnival games, a kids zone, and live music all day, plus a hot dog eating contest and a cutest dog contest for good measure. It is free to walk in, easy to pop into for an hour or make a day of, and it pairs perfectly with the sunflowers at Dix Park for one big downtown Saturday. Go before mid-afternoon: storms become likely after 2 PM.

A genuine legend on a Saturday night: Paul Simon brings his tour to Walnut Creek. The USMNT’s ride ended Monday night in Seattle, a 4-1 loss to Belgium after Malik Tillman’s free kick briefly leveled it, but what a ride: a first-ever group win, 11 goals (the program’s most in any World Cup), and a first knockout victory since 2002.
