Good morning, W.Y.R. neighbors! Big Mother’s Day weekend ahead: Friday Night on White brings Sleeping Booty Band to downtown Wake Forest, Rolesville stacks a farmers market and Second Saturday concert at Cobblestone Village, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate mom around town, from sip-and-shop stops to brunch, burgers, breweries, flowers, and paint nights. Norse is adding a Brews + Blooms Spring Market, Blackbird has a Saturday evening farmers market, and the Canes are rolling into Philadelphia with a 2-0 series lead.

If Mother’s Day still needs a plan, you have options. Sip & Shop at Unwined on White runs Saturday from noon to 4 PM, Norse has Brews + Blooms at the same time, and Wine & Design is running Paint & Sip and Celebrate Mom sessions across May 8, 9, and 10. Sunday has Pancakes and Mimosas at Bud’s Tavern at 10 AM, Mother’s Day at Blackbird Brewery from noon to 9 PM, and a free Varsity Cheeseburger with a rose for moms at Carolina Ale House all day. For a more reservation-style meal, Bodega has Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM and dinner from 4 to 8 PM. If you want a creative option after the weekend, ZincHouse has a Mother’s Day Spring Tulips Paint & Sip on Thursday, May 14 from 6 to 9 PM.

Wake Forest’s favorite downtown street party is back for round two of the season. Sleeping Booty Band brings the beach, soul, funk, Top 40, Motown, and dance-party energy, which means this is one of the easiest all-ages nights out in town. White Street Brewing opens the taproom side of the party at 5 PM, beer and wine sales start early, and downtown restaurants will be busy. Go early if you want dinner without fighting the whole town for a table.

Norse is turning Mother’s Day weekend into a local maker afternoon. Expect handcrafted goods, small businesses, beer, food, and an easy downtown stop if you want a gift that does not look like you panic-bought it on Sunday morning. This is a good second stop after the Wake Forest Farmers Market, especially if you are already downtown after Saturday errands.

Rolesville gets the most complete Saturday flow this week. Start with the Downtown Rolesville Farmers Market in the morning, then come back in the afternoon for the free Second Saturday Concert Series with live music, local brews, and the low-pressure hangout vibe Cobblestone has been building. It is not BBQ & Bands big, but it is exactly the kind of repeatable local rhythm a town needs.

Bring the kids, friends, a picnic and a blanket and settle in for some foot-tapping, finger-snapping good times! You are invited to pack a picnic and enjoy the music. Several food truck vendors will also be onsite during each concert.
