Good morning, W.Y.R. neighbors! This weekend is stacked! The Canes are deep in the playoffs and chasing a trip to the Stanley Cup Final, with a very good shot at a marquee home game at Lenovo Center this week. Sunday brings the grand finale of Six Sundays in Spring, with Snapback closing out the series at Joyner Park. Saturday, Gladwell Orthodontics hosts their annual carnival, backyard pitmasters fire up the smokers for the 6th Annual Three Silos barbecue competition at Silo Park in Holding Village, and Wednesday the Renaissance Centre opens its Summer at the Centre series with Carolina beach-music legends The Embers.

Three Silos Barbeque fires up its 6th annual competition Saturday afternoon at Silo Park in Holding Village, with Blackbird pouring beer during the event. Teams are competing in Best Overall and People’s Choice, samples are free, and the page also mentions music, an inflatable for kids, and Mayor Ben Clapsaddle on the judging panel.

Worth the drive this week: Young the Giant bring their Victory Garden Tour to Red Hat with Cold War Kids and Almost Monday in support, a stacked alt-rock triple bill on a dry Saturday night. 

🎶 Six Sundays in Spring: Snapback
📍 E. Carroll Joyner Park Amphitheater, 701 Harris Rd, Wake Forest | Sunday, May 31 | 5:30 to 7:30 PM | FREE

Wake Forest closes out this spring’s Six Sundays series with Snapback at Joyner Park. Bring chairs, blankets, and dinner if you want to make it a full picnic evening. The town says the concert is rain or shine, with weather updates posted by noon if severe weather threatens the show.
