Get Ready to Make a Splash for a Great Cause!

This Saturday, February 7, the community is invited to take part in the Second Annual WFPD Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). The event, organized by the Wake Forest Police Department, will take place at Heritage Lake Pool (804 Heritage Lake Road). Registration opens at 9:00 a.m., with the chilly plunge scheduled for 10:00 a.m.

Whether you’re a fearless “plunger” ready to jump into the cold water or a proud supporter cheering from the sidelines, there’s something for everyone. Participants must raise a minimum of $75 to take the plunge and can earn prizes and incentives for higher fundraising. If you’d rather stay warm, you can register as a “too chicken” supporter for $20 and enjoy the heated “chicken coop” area. All proceeds go directly to SONC to benefit athletes across the state.

In addition to the plunge itself, the event will feature an awards ceremony, costume prizes, raffles, and plenty of community spirit. This will be a fun and meaningful way to kick off the weekend while supporting an important cause.
