Good morning, W.Y.R. neighbors! September is rolling, and with it comes one of downtown Wake Forest’s biggest traditions. Friday Night on White is back for the last of the 2025 season this week, bringing live music, local eats, and that perfect late-summer energy. From farmers’ markets to neighborhood concerts and even a quirky book fair, this week has plenty to fill your calendar.

Honor and Remembrance Ceremony
Thursday, September 11 | 6–8:30 PM | Rolesville Elementary School | Free

A reflective evening honoring first responders and lives lost. Bring the family, arrive a little early, and expect a meaningful community program.

Friday Night on White: Liquid Pleasure
Friday, September 12 | 6–9 PM | S. White St., Downtown Wake Forest | Free

The town’s signature street party returns with high-energy hits, food trucks, and friends you have not met yet. Bring chairs, grab a bite, and dance into the weekend.

NC Courage vs Angel City
Saturday, September 13 | Evening kick | WakeMed Soccer Park, Cary | Tickets required

Top-tier women’s soccer on a national broadcast. A great mom-and-kids night with stadium snacks and big-game energy.

Concert in the Park: The Phoebes
Sunday, September 14 | 5:30–7:30 PM | Joyner Park Amphitheater | Free

Rock and blues with food and dessert trucks like Jolly’s Catering and Lumpy’s Ice Cream. Bring blankets, let the kids run, and savor golden hour.

A powerful tribute with a steel beam from the North Tower.

Friday Night on White is offered along South White Street in downtown Wake Forest from 6-9 p.m. on the second Friday night of each month from April through September.

FNOW brings the entire community together for six Friday nights of free, family entertainment. Past series attracted well over 50,000 visitors to downtown Wake Forest.

2025 Concerts in the Park | E. Carroll Joyner Park | 5:30-7:30 PM

Bring your family and friends, a picnic, and a blanket, and settle in for some foot-tapping, finger-snapping good times!

ARTS Wake Forest and the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department will present free concerts at E. Carroll Joyner Park on Sunday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 14. Both performances will get underway at 5:30 p.m. in the Joyner Park Amphitheater - situated adjacent to the shade provided by the majestic pecan grove.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, or bring your own picnic. Food and dessert trucks scheduled for September 14 include Jolly's Catering, Smash Masters, Not Just a Fry Guy, Kona Ice, and Lumpy’s Ice Cream.

A fast-rising force, The Phoebes Band, performs the perfect mix of Rock & Blues with soulful vocals, screaming guitars, and a driving rhythm section. The band was the winner of the 2024 WRAL Voters’ Choice Awards: Best Local Band of the Triangle and the winner of the 2024 Bands and Clubs of the Triangle: Best Local Band of the Year.
