As of Wednesday, July 16th, the Taylor Street Park Sprayground has reopened! According to the Town of Wake Forest, the facility had been closed for several weeks due to an equipment malfunction that resulted in a water line rupture.

One of the area’s most Instagram-worthy summer sights just reached peak bloom. Dorothea Dix Park’s famous sunflower field is now in full bloom and expected to stay vibrant for the next two weeks. More than 125,000 sunflowers covering 5 acres create a golden sea of blooms – a perfect backdrop for family photos or an evening stroll. The field is free to visit dawn to dusk (1700 Umstead Drive) and draws thousands of visitors, so plan accordingly (weekday mornings are less crowded). Don’t miss this once-a-year natural spectacle!
